BASIC THINKING

The existence of the world of dance at the current global era not only belong to certain ethnic, but it is part of the world community. Therefore the dance of life is also a shared responsibility, even for the people of Solo, the municipal government and the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) Surakarta.
Dance is an expression of national identity, source of creativity and is a heritage to be preserved and developed so as not eroded by modernity. Awareness of the strength of identity as the basic fundamentals will lead to the exploration and expression of grain and the works that have a modern interpretation and meaning.

DANCE
UNESCO program that dance can serve to counteract the biases of all the discrimination that continues to threaten the unity. Dance not only as exhibition material or physical extremes, a dramatization of the situation, but a place to celebrate the variety of differences among human beings. Besides that “dance” is one of the last pillar is still the pride of the nation at the regional, national or international level, therefore we must maintain maximum.

ACTIVITY
1. Solo Dancing (All citizens of the Solo city, “Yang Muda Yang Menari”)
2. Establish the identity of “Dancing Day” by wearing the attributes of dance
3. 24-hour “Gelar Tari”
4. 24-hour Dancing
5. Dance Oration

TIME AND PLACE
World Dance Day 2010 activities will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Activities conducted at Slamet Riyadi, 4 points.  Stage 1. Solo Square, 2. Office lobby PLN Surakarta, 3. Joglo Sriwedari and 4. in City Hall Surakarta. Also at Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) Surakarta campus, Jl. Ki Hadjar Dewantara 19, Kentingan, Jebres.
